In 2003, the Asian Law Institute (ASLI) was jointly founded by the Peking University Law School and 12 other leading law schools in Asia. The aim of the ASLI is to promote the development of the legal education cause in Asia, build a communication and exchange platform for Asian legal practitioners, and provide support for legal practitioners in their Asian law research. Since its foundation, a total of 29 law schools from Asia and other continents have successively joined the ASLI as its members.
From May 18 to May 20 in 2016, the 13th annual Asian Law Institute Conference Programme themed on the "Asian Perspectives on Legal Globalization" will be held in Peking University Law School. During that time, legal scholars, legal experts and legal practitioners from around the world will gather together to discuss issues concerning the legal research and the legal education in a joint effort to promote the flourishing development of the legal cause in Asia. Chinalawinfo (pkulaw.cn) will participate in the whole process of this summit as a co-sponsor.
In parallel sessions of this conference, legal scholars from Asia and some European and American countries will make in-depth discussions and share their latest thoughts on issues in the private law, especially in company, finance, and contract, and issues on marriage and family, international law and globalization, as well as the international trade and regional cooperation in an open-minded and inclusive manner. Meanwhile, Jiang Bixin, vice president of the Supreme People's Court of PRC and Prof. Zhu Suli of Peking University will give their keynote speeches at the Conference on May 19 and 20 respectively.
During the conference, Chinalawinfo Co., Ltd. will introduce and demonstrate our data resources and their application situation at our exhibition stand; Meanwhile, all computers to be used by the participants will be equipped with the pkulaw database for legal scholars and experts to search for the legal information they need.
