The Ministry of Public Security recently issued the Provisions on the Procedures for Handling Road Traffic Accidents (draft for comments) for public opinions.
The draft adjusts several procedures such as the investigation of accidents involving personal injuries and the review of assessment opinions, and divides all road traffic accidents into three categories, namely, accidents involving property loss and damage, accidents involving personal injuries and accidents involving death of people, and specifies different qualifications for traffic police officers to deal with different categories of accidents. In addition, the draft sets forth three types of accidents involving personal injuries that can be dealt with in fast track.
