The Shenzhen Municipal Planning and Natural Resources Bureau has recently begun the compilation of guidelines on the industrial space layout for the city's strategic, emerging and future industries as well as 20 advanced manufacturing parks, Shenzhen Special Zone Daily reported Thursday.
The move aims to plan in a comprehensive manner to optimize the city's industrial space layout, ensure the supply of industrial space, promote the integrated development of industry and city, and allow room for undertaking key industrial projects.
Shenzhen has designated 20 scientific and technological innovation industry clusters while deepening the spatial layout of the city's 20 advanced manufacturing parks, planning an area of about 500 square kilometers for industrial space within the city.
This June, Shenzhen issued guidelines on developing 20 globally competitive strategic emerging industrial clusters and fostering eight future industries to gain an edge in these industries.
The city also released the spatial layout plan of Shenzhen's 20 advanced manufacturing parks. The 20 parks, with an area of about 300 square kilometers, are planned in Bao'an, Longgang, Longhua, Pingshan, Guangming and Yantian districts, Dapeng New Area and Shenshan Special Cooperation Zone.
The plan has pointed out the direction of industrial development in each park, providing a spatial basis for promoting the development of strategic and emerging industry clusters.
For instance, Bao'an has four advanced manufacturing parks being planned, focusing on the development of industrial clusters such as semiconductors and integrated circuits, intelligent terminals, network and communication, ultrahigh-definition video displays, machine tools, precision instruments, intelligent robots, and laser and additive manufacturing.
The four advanced manufacturing parks in Guangming will highlight the development of industrial clusters such as new materials, biomedicine, precision instruments, ultrahigh-definition video displays, high-end medical devices, intelligent sensors, fashion and energy conservation.
