Order of the President of the People's Republic of China (No. 59) The Decision of the Standing Committee of the National People's Congress on Amending the Law of the People's Republic of China on the Organization of the People's Courts on the Organization of the People's Courts, which was adopted at the 24th meeting of the Standing Committee of the 10th National People's Congress of the People's Republic of China on October 31, 2006, is hereby promulgated and shall come into force as of January 1, 2007. President of the People's Republic of China Hu Jintao October 31, 2006 Decision of the Standing Committee of the National People's Congress on Amending the Law of the People's Republic of China on the Organization of the People's Courts (Adopted at the 24th meeting of the Standing Committee of the 10th National People's Congress of the People's Republic of China on October 31, 2006) It is decided at the 24th meeting of the Standing Committee of the 10th National People's Congress of the People's Republic of China to amend the Law of the People's Republic of China on the Organization of the People's Courts as follows:		中华人民共和国主席令（第59号）《全国人民代表大会常务委员会关于修改〈中华人民共和国人民法院组织法〉的决定》已由中华人民共和国第十届全国人民代表大会常务委员会第二十四次会议于2006年10月31日通过，现予公布，自2007年1月1日起施行。中华人民共和国主席　胡锦涛 2006年10月31日全国人民代表大会常务委员会关于修改《中华人民共和国人民法院组织法》的决定（2006年10月31日第十届全国人民代表大会常务委员会第二十四次会议通过）第十届全国人民代表大会常务委员会第二十四次会议决定对《中华人民共和国人民法院组织法》作如下修改：
Article 13 shall be amended as: “All death penalties, except for those that should be adjudicated by the Supreme People's Court according to law, shall be reported to the Supreme People's Court for examination and approval.” This Decision shall come into force as of January 1, 2007. The Law of the People's Republic of China on the Organization of the People's Courts shall be re-promulgated after the amendments have been made and the sequential numbers of the articles are correspondingly adjusted according to this Decision.		第十三条修改为：“死刑除依法由最高人民法院判决的以外，应当报请最高人民法院核准。” 本决定自2007年1月1日起施行。《中华人民共和国人民法院组织法》根据本决定作修改并对条款顺序作调整后，重新公布。
