Recently, the 2022 Hainan Free Trade Port Investment Guide compiled by the Department of Commerce of Hainan Province was released.
The Guide is comprised of four parts: A Glimpse of Hainan, Investment Forms and Approval or Filing Process, Tax Exemption Preferential Policies on Income from Overseas Direct Investment of Three Industries, and Examples as References. It provides detailed information on investment forms, enterprise registration, and approval or filing of overseas investments. As specified in the Master Plan for the Construction of Hainan Free Trade Port, enterprises in the tourism, modern service, and high-tech industries established in Hainan Free Trade Port are entitled to corporate tax exemption for their incomes from new foreign direct investments before 2025. Further, the Guide also elaborates on tax exemption policies especially in terms of statutory conditions and scenario demonstration, along with two examples for reference.
