Announcement of the Supreme People's Court of the People's Republic of China
The Provisions of the Supreme People's Court on Citation of Such Normative Legal Documents as Laws and Regulations in the Judgments, which were adopted at the 1470th meeting of the judicial committee of the Supreme People's Court on July 13, 2009, are hereby promulgated, and shall come into force on November 4, 2009.

(Interpretation No. 14 [2009] of the Supreme People's Court)
For purposes of further regulating the citation of such normative legal documents as laws and regulations in the judgments, improving the quality of rulings, ensuring the judicial integration and maintaining the authority of law, these Provisions are formulated in accordance with the Legislation Law of the People's Republic of China and other laws.

為進一步規範裁判文書引用法律、法規等規範性法律文件的工作，提高裁判質量，確保司法統一，維護法律權威，根據《中華人民共和國立法法》等法律規定，制定本規定。

Article 1 A judgment made by the people's court shall cite relevant laws, regulations and other normative legal documents in accordance with law as a ruling basis. The name and sequential number of articles of the normative legal documents shall be accurately and completely stated during the citation, and if it is necessary to cite a specific article, the whole article shall be cited.
