Happy New Year!

As the fall semester of 2023 just came to its conclusion, we hope to thank you for your generous support to the law school community, which has been indispensable to all we have achieved through a highly momentous year on campus. In this latest edition of PKU LAW IN FOCUS we are excited to share with you stories on our side in the past fall semester. As always, we look forward to staying in touch, and also hearing from you about exciting achievements and opportunities on your side.
This year of 2024 our law school is celebrating its 120th anniversary as pioneer of China's modern legal education. You are cordially invited to take the chance to visit us on campus and join us in commemorating the legendary journey of the PKU Law community, which has played an instrumental role to the nation's modernization and rule of law.

PKU LAW International Week 2023

The PKU LAW International Week 2023 consisted of a series of highly popular events at which students interact with academics, young professionals, and their peers to explore together prospects and challenges facing globalized lawyers of today.

"24 Hours" : Essentials for Lawyers of the World

With six successful series hosted in 2023, featuring over 20 legal experts and attracting over 1,000 participants, "24 Hours" is already enriching the lives of Peking University Law School's students. Equipped with invaluable knowledge and connections, they are poised to become the well-rounded legal professionals of tomorrow.

PKU-Jones Day Global Legal Talent Summer Camp

Thirty students selected from fourteen of China's top universities participated in the inaugural PKU-Jones Day Global Legal Talent Summer Camp, a four-day intensive program launched jointly by PKU Law School and the international law firm Jones Day.

Our faculty hosts the nation's leading experts in all major subject areas of law. In the past semester their research excellence and contributions have continued to become recognized across the country.

● Professor Jiang Mingan and Associate Professor Peng Chun awarded the 9th Qian Duansheng Prize for Legal Scholarship
● Dr. Chen Xiaohang won 2023 Antonio Cassese Prize
● Professors Guo Li and Chen Ruihua awarded the 5th Outstanding Achievement Award for Chinese Legal Scholarship
● Professor Wang Jin's team contributed to the legislation of Eco-environmental protection of Qinghai-Tibet Plateau
● Three faculty members' manuscripts selected for the Chinese Academic Translation Project by the National Social Science Foundation
● The Institute of Intellectual Property of Peking University celebrated its 30th anniversary

The annual "PKU Law Marathon" Parent-Child Sports Meeting unfolded. From seasoned legal minds to their wide-eyed juniors, all that participated enjoyed family bonds forged through playful competitions.
