The China Banking Regulatory Commission recently released a revised version of the Measures for the Administration of Leverage Ratios of Commercial Banks to solicit public opinions.
The revision changes the methods measuring off-balance-sheet items including trade finance, acceptance of bill of exchange and letter of guarantee, and further specifies the methods measuring exposures such as derivative products and securities financing transactions. In addition, the revision further improves the information transparency about leverage ratio indicators.
