The “Provisions on the Administration of Entry and Exit of Cadavers and Treatment of Cadavers”, which were discussed and adopted at the working meeting of the Ministry of Health on May 12, 2006, and have been decided on by the Ministry of Science and Technology, the Ministry of Public Security, the Ministry of Civil Affairs, the Ministry of Justice, the Ministry of Commerce, the General Administration of Customs, the State Administration for Industry and Commerce, and the General Administration of Quality Supervision, Inspection and Quarantine, are hereby promulgated, and shall come into force on August 1, 2006.

《尸体出入境和尸体处理的管理规定》已于2006年5月12日经卫生部部务会议讨论通过，并经科技部、公安部、民政部、司法部、商务部、海关总署、国家工商总局、国家质检总局决定，现予公布，自2006年8月1日起施行。

Article 1 The present Provisions are formulated in accordance with the “Frontier Sanitary Quarantine Law of the People's Republic of China”, the “Customs Law of the People's Republic of China”, the “Regulation on the Administration of Funerals and Interments” and other relevant laws and regulations for the purpose of protecting public interests, maintaining public ethics, and preventing infectious diseases from spreading into or out of the territory of China.
| | 第一条 为保护社会公共利益，维护社会公共道德，防止传染病由境外传入或者由境内传出，根据《中华人民共和国国境卫生检疫法》、《中华人民共和国海关法》和《殡葬管理条例》等有关法律法规的规定，制定本规定。

Article 2 The term cadavers as mentioned in the present Provisions shall refer to the dead human bodies and the specimens thereof (including human organs and tissues, human bones and the specimens thereof).
| | 第二条 本规定所称尸体，是指人去世后的遗体及其标本（含人体器官组织、人体骨骼及其标本）。

Article 3 Where a funeral and interment of a dead body needs to be carried out after entry or exit of the territory, the party concerned shall, in accordance with the “Some Provisions on the Administration of Transport of Cadavers” (No. 2 [1993] of the Ministry of Civil Affairs) of the Ministry of Civil Affairs, the Ministry of Public Security, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Ministry of Railways, the Ministry of Communications, the Ministry of Health, the General Administration of Customs and the General Administration of Civil Aviation of China, the “Notice on the Relevant Issues concerning the Entry/Exit on Transport of Dead Bodies” (No. 11 [1998] of the Ministry of Civil Affairs) of the Ministry of Civil Affairs, the General Administration of Customs and the State Administration of Entry/Exit Inspection and Quarantine, as well as other relevant provisions of the state, apply to the administrative department of civil affairs, the customs, and the entry/exit inspection and quarantine institution for fulfillment of the relevant procedures of funeral and interment as well as those of entry or exit.
．．．．．． | | 第三条 需要入境或者出境对遗体进行殡葬的，应当按照民政部、公安部、外交部、铁道部、交通部、卫生部、海关总署、民用航空局《关于尸体运输管理的若干规定》（民事发〔1993〕2号）和民政部、海关总署、国家出入境检验检疫局《关于遗体运输入出境事宜有关问题的通知》（民事发〔1998〕11号）以及国家其他有关规定，向民政部门、海关、出入境检验检疫机构办理有关殡葬和出入境手续。
