The revised draft of Advertising Law was submitted to the 14th Session of the Standing Committee of the Twelfth National People's Congress for third review on April 20.
Pursuant to the Draft, pharmaceutical advertisements shall clearly indicate the adverse effect, and health food advertisement may not involve prevention and/or cure of diseases. According to the Draft, the following advertisements will be prohibited: drug and health food advertise ments released on health programs, advertisements for infant dairy product, drink and other food suggesting as complete or partial substitute for breast milk released in mass media or public places, and tobacco advertisements released in mass media or public places.
